Google Earth mostra combate no Iraque

Os usuários do programa Google Earth, que mostra imagens de satélites, podem ver imagens de um combate entre Estados Unidos e Iraque nas ruas de Bagdá. Segundo informações do diário argentino Clarín reproduzidas pela Folha On Line, as imagens referem-se a uma batalha de 4 de abril de 2004 que resultou na morte de sete soldados norte-americanos.
“De longe, parece um congestionamento no bairro xiita de Sadr City (nordeste da capital iraquiana). No entanto, ao aproximar a imagem, é possível distinguir os tanques de guerra M1A1 transitando pelas ruas”, explica o jornal. Além dos tanques, também é possível ver alguns Humvees, veículos militares norte-americanos.

O jornal reforça que, apesar de as imagens terem o número 2008, elas foram feitas em 2007. Alguns países já expressaram preocupação em relação ao Google Earth, dizendo que o programa representa uma ameaça à segurança.
